cloth-eared and by-the-numbers musicians make a killing in the age of streaming as watered down gravy presented as art is immediately thrown onto curated playlists that no-one listens to but have on in the background as sonic wallpaper, certainly white noise has more artistic merit than the slop being dished up to a passive audience who don't care what they listen to as long as silence is kept at bay for if it isn't, they may have to be alone with their own thoughts, which to some, could prove catastrophic being that having to face the real person inside, dredging up the past to siphon, articulate and eventually process is all such a chore, much better to wack on and off to the latest pile of poo that meets the Spotify stamp of approval in which nothing has been learned, gained or gleaned as we repeat the mistakes of the past ad infinitum since time immemorial.
